本校體育中心成立於民國八十六年，隸屬於共同教育委員會，位於靠志學門的五十公頃體育園區內。編制有一位主任、兩位組員、一位工友、兩位專案助理，數位體育教師協助體育行政、教學各項工作。

本校為達成均衡學生身心發展、增進體育認知的發展、提升運動技能、養成社會規範行為、建立休閒習慣之體育實施計畫目標，從體育教學、運動場地、體育活動、體育社團、推廣教育等五方面著手，結合行政、人力、財力及物力資源，積極增進學生體適能，並擴及社區民眾。

This office, belonging to Committee for General Education, was founded in the year of 1997 that is located on 50-hectare sports park near Tzi-Shue Gate of National Dong Hwa University. The office is composed of one director, two staff, one caretaker, two contracted assistants as well as several teachers in physical education who lend their assistances to administration, teachings of this office.

In order to achieve students' balanced development between body and mind, increase their recognition of physical education, promote sports techniques, cultivate behavior of social norms, establish recreational habits etc, which are objectives in physical education, this university undertakes following aspects: physical education, sports facilities, sports activities, sports clubs, education popularization etc, as well as unites resources of administration, manpower, finance, equipments to the purpose of increasing students' physical feasibility and extending services to community without.
